Support Tomorrow's Rising Stars (ST*RS) is a collective of graduating BFA and MFA students from all departments within The Theatre School at DePaul University, who seek to establish a foundation for their transition and launch into their artistic careers. Typically, each spring, the graduating class is given the opportunity to showcase their talents to theatre professionals (i.e. talent agents, casting directors, artistic directors, technical directors, networking festivals, etc.) in New York, Los Angeles, and right at home in Chicago. Due to COVID-19, there is a high possibility that we will not partake in this spring's traveling and instead offer up a digital showcase to all markets that are open to seeing us share our gifts.
Funds raised by ST*RS are used to offset the costs of headshots, portfolios, plane tickets, personal equipment, and anything else that might be needed to jump-start a career in the arts. By donating to ST*RS, you will, in turn, become a participant in a group of individuals who are setting out to cultivate new artistic and theatrical communities across the globe, as well as gain some footing as we step into an extremely uncertain professional landscape due to our public health crisis.

Pays for a coffee outing with a prospective mentor to connect and network.
Pays for items such as personal tools, PPE, and job-specific hardware.
Pays for items such as storage space for supplies, CTA pass, or union fees.
Covers the cost of building a professional website and ordering business cards.
Pays for equipment to build a home studio for voiceover work, podcasting, self-taping, or designing.
Pays for necessary software and subscriptions such as QLab 4 (lighting and sound designers), AutoCad (technical directors), StageWrite (for stage managers), Actors Access, Backstage (for actors), and Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (for everyone).
This will provide all necessary equipment and travel expenses for any showcase, interview, or general relocating that a graduating student will need to dive headfirst into their craft and immediately begin their artistic endeavors.
