Dear Friends of DePaul’s Public Interest Law Association:
Thank you very much for your recent donation. Through the Blue Demon Challenge and subsequent crowdfunding campaign, dozens of alumni, students, staff, faculty and friends of PILA came together to support public interest students. We are pleased to announce that we have raised an incredible $16,054 due to your generosity and support.
We are especially grateful for our alums:
Jorie and Dan (JD ’06) Lombard
Robin Wagner (JD ’14) and Sharon Haar
who offered to match donations to double the impact of our donors. These funds will provide 3 critical summer scholarships for students working full time in unpaid public interest internships. These students will now have the opportunity to grow their legal skills in an area they are passionate about, and serve a marginalized community, instead of worrying about how they will support themselves for the summer.
It is because of generous donors like you that these law students will be able to use the power of their degree to help those who otherwise may not be able to access the justice system. Through this opportunity, students will grow as advocates and be inspired to keep serving the community throughout their legal careers.
With gratitude,
Public Interest Law Association

This marks the 26th Year PILA has been raising money to support unpaid internships.
What a way to make a living! A week’s pay for a student at Chicago’s minimum wage rate.
An entire summer scholarship for one hardworking student! Community Champions will receive a handwritten thank you note to show our appreciation.
