Wouldn't you agree that higher education is expensive? That is probably an understatement! As a student at DePaul, I understand the hardships students face, and tuition is one of them. I am lucky enough to have earned many schoolships and grants that are sponsored by the generosity of donors. That is why I am volunteering to raise funds for the Sid Feldman Legacy Fund.
What is the purpose of this fund? For so many CPS students, college is too far out of reach. In fact, eight out of every one hundred freshmen that enter high school end up earning a college degree. This is not because they did not make the cut or are not "college material," but rather due to the financial burden. This one stat really hit home when only 8% of CPS graduates earn a bachelor’s degree. Our team is working to change that stat and so far the SFLF has raised over $750K. Our goal is to raise $90,000 this term to give two CPS students the chance to earn a degree and be the future leaders we need in this world. Can we count on you?
