About Us
In August of 2023, the first ever Women of Color Pre-Law Association was established at DePaul University, aimed to establish and embrace community, connections, and culture of the DePaul Women, Non-Binary, and Non-Conforming students of Color interested in pursuing careers in the legal field.
The students believed that the different events and resources not only strengthened their own individual racial, ethnic, and cultural roots, but also empowered women of color students to become unified leaders in their communities to pursue law.
Why We Need Your Support
We're reaching out to our community members, friends, and anyone who believes in the power of community to make a difference. With your generous donations, we can overcome these obstacles and continue providing resources and community to our members and their journey to Law School.
How Your Support Helps
1. WOCA Tier: This amount would help WOCA get off our feet and set up a solid foundation for the organization. An accumulation of these donations would go towards supporting main club operations.
2. Charlotte E. Ray - Bronze Tier: This would go towards funding creative events, study groups, team bonding, and festive gatherings to celebrate academic successes, fund tutor materials for LSAT prep sessions, and give out WOCA merchandise for the members.
3. Loretta Lynch - Silver Tier: This would go towards securing venues for larger events, go towards supporting selected scholars' LSAT exam fees (2 exams for each scholar who is a junior or senior), and Law Hub fees & membership for study materials and tutoring.
4. Patsy Mink - Gold Tier: This amount would also go towards our scholars' LSAT exam fees (2 exams for each junior or senior participant), Law Hub fees, and memberships for study materials. Donors will have their name listed on the back of our WOCA T-Shirts.
5. Ketanji B. Jackson - Platinum: This would cover at least 3 scholars' grants to cover 2 LSAT exams for each scholar, Law Hub fees and membership to use study materials and tutoring, and cover fees to send applications to at least 2 law schools. You would receive a personal video from each scholar recipient and have your name listed on the back from our T-shirts, shouts on our social media pages.
6. Sonia Sotomayor - Diamond Tier: This would establish the continuation of the scholarship to reach the next year's selection of scholars. Members would receive financial support for the following year's events, festivities, scholarships, and any support for internships, fellowships, and educational experiences in the legal field. These incredibly special donors would receive a personal thank you from the whole organization and individual scholar recipients. Donors would have their names printed on the back of shirts, have their names on all WOCA Promotional material.
