DePaul Student Veterans Union
The DePaul Student Veterans Union is seeking donations to take DePaul Veterans to the biggest gathering of student veterans in the world at the Student Veterans of America’s National Conference in Los Angeles, in January 2020.
What is Student Veterans of America National Conference?
The Student Veterans of America’s yearly national conference is the largest gathering of student veterans in the world. Every year this conference brings veterans of the US Armed Forces and its allies to one gathering for a weekend of networking, workshops, and interviews with some of the country's top employers.
Attendees have the opportunity to attend over one hundred workshops and speaking events on subjects ranging from building a better community on campus, how to get the average student involved and include them in your club, how to run your social media accounts, fine tune your interview skills, and how to be more diverse on campus.
How far does your donation go?
Donations go directly to helping DePaul Student Veterans attend the National Conference and ultimately make them better students on campus and help them find a career with one of the top employers. Last year all 8 DePaul student veterans who attended were offered an internship or role for post-graduation. After seeing the how motivated employers are to hire veterans at this event we want to bring as many students as we can. Donations will cover travel costs, registration for the conference, and meals for the attendees.
What is DePaul Student Veterans Union?
DePaul Student Veterans Union is a DePaul community organization whose mission is veteran advocacy on campus, community service, and to help those who served transition into student life. We help those who need it no matter the background, whether you're a veteran, a spouse or child of a veterans, or someone that wants to be involved and serve those who served. There is a place for everyone.
A gift at this amount will help a student prepare and print resumes to give to potential employers at the conference.
This will cover the cost of a ride from the airport to the conference for a student veteran.
A gift of this amount will cover a student's meals for one day of the conference.
A gift of this size will cover the hotel cost for a student for one night.
This gift will cover the entire registration cost for one of our student veterans.
A gift of this size will cover the cost of a round-trip flight for one student veteran to attend the conference.
