DePaul’s student-led, community-driven online magazine 14 East is celebrating five years of publication, but we need your help to continue and grow our work during the next five years.
Here at 14 East, we pride ourselves on covering Chicago in ways that not only celebrate the city’s diversity but actively engage people in our reporting process. Whether it be through interacting with residents in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood to craft a housing issue showcasing the beauty of the community and how residents are giving it new life or by paying to give water testing kits for free to members of the DePaul community for a water testing issue, 14 East strives to provide accurate coverage of issues directly impacting our city and campus.
Now, with the launch of our bilingual Spanish publication Pueblo and being named Pinnacle Awards’ top four year college publication in 2020, we are looking to further expand our outreach to provide even more opportunities for our journalists to gain real world experience in an urban, multimedia-centered environment.
