The DePaul Student Food Pantry is a place where incredible need and incredible generosity have come together.
DePaul was home to a number of students in need long before the pandemic and resulting economic crisis hit our community. However, the Blue Demon family stepped up to support our most vulnerable students, and now the student food pantry is moving into a new space almost twice the size of the current location. In the new space, with the addition of a new cooler and larger freezer, we will have the opportunity to provide fresh foods and a larger selection of frozen foods. In addition, we intend to have an entire section dedicated to household items. These items are in high demand, but we have not had the space to offer them until now. This section will include household and personal care items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, deodorant, soaps and shampoos, detergent, and more.
We are so grateful for the support we have received that has allowed us to expand. While we remain concerned about the high level of need among our student body, we know we are fortunate to be part of a community that cares so deeply about DePaul students.
