Support Latinx students at DePaul.

As we prepare to return to campus in the fall, the Latinx Cultural Center is looking forward to reuniting with our students and offering events and programming to celebrate our shared culture and history. Your gift will help us provide those opportunities and more, including:

• Increased accessibility: In order to make our programming more inclusive, we would like to include translations for American Sign Language as well as bilingual English/Spanish translations.
• Regalia Lending Program: To assist in managing costs associated with graduation, and increasing sustainability, we hope to institute a regalia lending program that allows students to borrow a cap and gown for commencement that they can then return to us for use by another student.
• Centers in the City: Excursions and experiences celebrating Latinx culture in the City of Chicago.
• The Rainbow Refrigerator: This will be a space where students can donate food to their peers.

Purpose/goals of center

The Latinx Cultural Center provides a venue for all students to learn about Latinx culture, heritage and traditions. The approach to the functions of the LCC acknowledges and affirms the importance of intersectional and holistic student development while providing and nurturing a sense of community.

Through its programs, activities and collaborations, the Latinx Cultural Center (LCC) aspires:

• To foster a sense of belonging and community among Latinx students on campus.
• To promote interpersonal inclusion, cultural exploration, heritage, and traditions.
• To encourage intersectional and intercultural dialogue.
• To support Latinx student organizations leadership, unity, and collaboration.
• To promote academic achievement of Latinx students by sharing and serving as a hub to various campus resources.
• To uphold, celebrate, and advocate for marginalized identities and communities.
