Our Crowdfunding Groups
Support Tomorrow's Rising Stars (ST*RS) seeks to foster a community of mutual artistic support at The Theatre School at DePaul University where everyone can feel welcome, open, and connected through artistic expression, fundraising events, and community engagement. As a collective of graduating BFA and MFA students, we seek to establish a foundation for life-long careers while nourishing the potential and development of one another within our school, the greater university, and beyond.
Each spring, the graduating class of The Theatre School at DePaul University is given the opportunity to showcase their talents to theatre and on-camera professionals (i.e. casting directors, artistic directors, shop managers, etc.) in New York, Los Angeles, and right at home in Chicago. This years’ class is particularly in need due to the devastating effects that COVID has had not only on our time here, but also on the business we are about to enter. Funds raised by ST*RS are used to offset the costs of headshots, portfolios, plane tickets, hotel rooms, and anything else that might be needed to jump start a career in the arts.
A gift at this level will cover the cost of a meal for a student who is traveling to meet casting directors and other industry insiders.
With a gift of this size, you can help a student handle an emergency on the road, from first aid to a lost article of clothing that needs to be replaced.
This gift will help a design student cover hosting fees for a professional website, allowing them to show off their extraordinary talent!
Platforms like Actors Access and Backstage charge fees that add up quickly. A gift at this level will pay for a students subscription fees for one year!
With a gift at this level, an aspiring actor can pay for a photo session for a set of professional headshots, and have them printed.
