DePaul Appellate Moot Court Society is a student-led organization, providing members with practical advocacy skills. Students are given instruction on advanced brief writing, legal research and the preparation of oral arguments. Members Students represent the College of Law in national competitions devoted to a multitude of practice areas. Alumni members of the Society accompany students for competitions as coaches.
This year, the Society is hosting an End-of-Year Reception, wrapping up the end of the competition season. This will be a celebration of the awards our members have received at their respective competitions, as well as an expression of gratitude to our alumni members who assisted the Society this season. Donations will go towards the operation of the reception and for scholarship awards for 2-3 selected members.
Scholarship Award recipients will be nominated by the General Body of the Society and winners will be selected by a committee consisting of a Faculty Advisor, Alumni Board Member, and President of the Society. Nominees will be evaluated based on performance in national competitions for the academic year of '22-'23 and contributions to advancement of the Society. These scholarships will help students finance their legal education and professional development.
