Support Tomorrow's Rising Stars (ST*RS) is a fundraising organization that supports graduating BFA and MFA students at The Theatre School. ST*RS serves students across all disciplines and departments–Performance, Theatre Studies, and Design/Technology–and is dedicated to assisting in one of life's most difficult transitions by alleviating just a portion of the expected financial stress to come. As students enter their final year, we seek to ensure a smooth shift into our post-grad lives as professional artists, collaborators, and theatre-makers, and reward our colleagues for the endless amount of hard work they put into honing their craft over the last few years.
Here are just a few of the expenses theatre students can expect post-graduation:
Q-Lab (sound design software): $5-12/day
Website Maintenance: $50/month
Headshots: $400
CTA Public Transportation Pass: $75/month
AutoCAD Subscription (technical drafting software): $235/month
Adobe Creative Cloud Software: $30/month
Average Cost of Groceries: $300/month
Average Cost of Rent (Chicago): $1,000+/month
We are looking to fundraise $2,500 from this campaign, and no contribution is too small! Just $25 gets us 1% closer to our goal. Your donation to ST*RS will go directly to students in the Class of 2024 and is tax deductible.
