The First Gen DePaul student organization is raising money to create micro scholarships for students at DePaul University who identify as first generation. Many first generation students face financial barriers when attending college, and our organization is working to alleviate these barriers by building micro scholarships that can support students with their needs. The scholarships can be used by students to pay for their tuition, textbooks, groceries, etc. If we can support a student during a difficult week, we will be there to support them, because as first generation students we understand the feeling of being lost and not always being sure of what's next.
We invite you to donate today, and support a student. As we work to reach our goal of $2500 by 11/10 we plan to support over 10 students with these micro scholarships.
Support a student by supporting them in buying a 1-2 textbooks for the quarter.
Support a student by helping them pay the Ventra U-Pass fee or Metro Pass for the quarter.
Support a student who is interested in attending a conference that will allow them to network and expand their career opportunities.
Donate to support to a student who is struggling to find the work and school balance or has had to take time off at work to focus on their education, and needs support to continue.
