DePaul is taking critical steps to reduce the density of people on campus while maintaining our commitment to student success and academic progress. To do so, spring quarter (and for our College of Law students, the rest of spring semester classes) will be conducted remotely. Additional information on how DePaul will continue to deliver academic instruction can be found on the university’s website at go.depaul.edu/covid.
Given the immediacy of the situation, some DePaul students have unanticipated expenses due to these changes. We would be grateful for your help in addressing the immediate needs of students experiencing hardship as a result of COVID-19. Your gift to the Student Emergency Assistance Fund provides the assistance these students require due to the challenges facing them related to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there is no way yet to calculate the full impact of COVID-19 on the DePaul community, it has already disrupted life on campus significantly—sowing uncertainty in students’ lives by creating unexpected housing and food expenses; restricting travel and potentially stranding them away from home; limiting their income from off-campus jobs or work-study positions; and creating other unforeseen challenges. By helping meet their immediate needs, the Student Emergency Assistance Fund can give DePaul students the ability to overcome the difficult setbacks COVID-19 poses.
A gift to the Student Emergency Assistance Fund lets DePaul students know that we have their backs and offers timely financial help that can lead to peace of mind and academic success. Providing funds for travel expenses, meals, technology needs and other necessities will help students who are facing financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you are or know of a DePaul student experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19, please send an email to deanofstudents@depaul.edu.
