Career Readiness & Experience Fund by the Numbers
According to data from job site Glassdoor, as many as half of internship opportunities were cut due to coronavirus. Between March 9 and April 13, 2020, Glassdoor saw a 52% decrease in internship openings. When comparing April 2019 to April 2020, internship hiring had fallen by 39%.
For the 2019-2020 fiscal year, we distributed almost $110,000 to 80 students engaged in unpaid internships. But the demand is much higher.
Sixty-three percent of college graduates who completed a paid internship received a job offer, compared to 35% who never interned.
