College is meant to be a time when people experience intellectual and personal growth that pushes them further than they thought they could go. It is a time of learning, experimentation—and overcoming obstacles. Every year, some of DePaul’s students find themselves meeting every challenge and working their hardest, yet coming up against one obstacle they can’t overcome on their own: securing the financial resources to complete the journey.
For those students, The Finish Line Fund can be a lifeline. It is available to them because YOU came through for them. Together with matching funds from a thoughtful donor, we have raised $28,662!
We are always grateful, but never surprised, by the generosity of the DePaul community. Thank you for responding to this critical need, and for investing in our students’ success with your gift. Because of you, deserving students can keep pushing forward until they cross the finish line.
Wow! We are thrilled to have met the $25,000 goal for The Finish Line Fund Challenge with a week left to go in the campaign! Your gifts are going to help students who may otherwise leave before completing their degrees stay in school. These funds can mean the difference between earning a degree or discontinuing studies for the students who receive them. Thank you for so generously supporting this effort!
We are not the only ones who are thrilled—our match donor is as well, so much so that we have been given the go-ahead to continue matching all additional gifts received through Tuesday, Aug.31! Let’s see how much more good we can do for DePaul students!
In 2020-21, approximately 11% of DePaul's juniors and seniors appealed the need determination calculated by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) based on special circumstances.
Historically, around 33% of DePaul seniors have appealed their FAFSA need determinations based on special circumstances.
Approximately 75% of DePaul juniors and seniors filed the FAFSA for the 2020-21 academic year.
For the 2020-21 academic year, 130 requests for special circumstances funding were met with available resources. This represented 1% of the students with financial need.
The amount needed to get a student to the finish line is not always as high as you might think. For some students, graduation was imperiled by a few hundred dollars. You can help a student reach the finish line with a gift of this amount!
